Naiads Fountain (Najadenbrunnen)
“Naiads Fountain” is inspired by the eponymous fountain in Vienna’s Schönbrunn Park. The artist plays with the femininity* of the original fountain, exploring it through the prism of a queer feminist approach. Belova reinterprets the sexualized image of a woman* and mother in the original fountain, and creates a new, androgynous body, only resembling a fountain in shape, but completely devoid of its original function.
