Melancholia

A collection of drawings I made during the pandemic, enclosed in a small sketch book. In these drawings I am driven by certain emotions, encounters/ experiences. I try to translate them via lines, as a way to cope but also to connect, to tell stories between the lines. The lines form genderless, anonymous faces from memory. Sometimes they dissolve and become a woven pattern of memories, lost in the materiality of graphite and paper. They are traces, witnesses of an action in a certain time.

As a lesbian draftswoman I trace and collect lines with pencil whenever I can and I love to share it with whoever wants to see it. I capture lines and I am wondering what you can read between them.
